Imphal, March 06 2021:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that the Government fully understands the grievances of VDF personnel and it would be looked into in due course of time taking the financial position of the State into account.
Speaking as the chief guest of the 12th raising day celebration of the VDF at the auditorium of the Manipur State Film Development Society, Palace Compound, the Chief Minister continued that the Government had already increased the honorarium of VDF personnel to Rs 8500 and ration money to Rs 2000, understanding their nature of duty and acknowledging their contribution towards maintaining law and order in the State.
Stating that there is perhaps a tendency among some organisations in Manipur to take the Government on ransom to meet their demands, the Chief Minister held that such practice should be avoided as nothing good can be achieved by ceasing duties in protest.

The Chief Minister also said that the present Government always fulfils valid demands, and this is not an exception to VDF personnel.
The grievances of VDF personels would be looked into in due course of time taking the financial position of the State into account, he said and urged the VDF personnel to join hands in checking the wrongdoers.
MAHUD Minister Okram Henry, Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan, DGP LM Khaute, ADGP C Doungel, All Manipur VDF Welfare Association chief advisor Wangkhemcha Shamjai and The Morning Bell Publisher L Bashanta Sharma also attended the celebration as dignitaries.
