Reacting to the exclusive report published by this daily, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Chairman, Dumka District, Jharkhand on Thursday stated that the committee had visited the Children Home called New Life Academy around two months back and found the son of Ngullam Haokip of Chandel District "safe" in the home.

Hueiyen Lanpao on Wednesday published the story of one ten year old son of Ngullam Haokip of Phalbung village in Chandel District who is still stranded in the faraway State of Jharkhand as the Social Welfare Department has failed to sanction the required fund for the child's journey home.
The minor was sent to one Children Home in Jharkhand identified as New Life Academy as the parents faced hardships to send their children to local schools due to poverty.
The minor was sent along with one of his elder brother and another child from the same village in February 2009 .
However, the elder brother and the other child returned home in June last for holidays and narrated the stories of the Home.
Since then, the parents wanted to bring back their child from the Home and contacted officials of Social Welfare Department, Manipur.
