Clubs appeal

Four local clubs of Singjamei have appealed the family members of late Thoungamba Huiningsumbam, who died after allegedly falling from the staircase of LJ Educare, Singjamei Okram Leikai, on April 1 and to the JAC formed in connection with the death, to cooperate in conducting the necessary post mortem of the deceased minor stating that it is a must in finding out the truth behind the incident.
Speaking to media persons at Simgjemei Leishangthem Leikai community hall, YAWA's secretary L Naobi informed that post mortem of the deceased child is still yet to be done as the family members have refused to give their signatures for the process.
He asserted that the post mortem report will be an essential clue in finding out the truth regarding the incident and further appealed to the family members of Thoungamba (the victim) and the JAC to cooperate in conducting the post mortem as well as in other processes.
The secretary went on to assure that four local clubs of Singjamei area namely - YAWA, Leishangthem Leikai, OLYC, Okram Leikai, EC, Oinam Thingel and SEDO, Sapam Leikai, will not stand in favour of Saikhom Lovejoy (the owner of LJ Educare) and anyone if they are found guilty in connection with the case.
Noting that the truth of the incident can be revealed only after a thorough investigation is carried out, he appealed all not to carry out any form of mob justice or act of vandalism.
He also asked all not to upload any wrong information regarding the incident on social media sites, adding that such things could lead to occurrence of unwanted incidents.
It may be mentioned that the family of Thoungamba denied the claim made by the authorities of LJ Coaching Centre which stated that the 12 year old minor boy died after falling from the staircase of the residential coaching centre on April 1, at around 10 am.
A group of persons reportedly came and vandalised the coaching centre at around 2.30 pm the same day.
Singjamei police later pulled up eight individuals allegedly involved in vandalising the coaching centre cum hostel.
