Coordinating Committee of Civil Societies, Manipur today organised an open discussion on the theme 'Participation and interference of non-locals in State administration' at Manipur Press Club .
Amongst others, the meeting resolved that the State formulate a law at the earliest to give priority to eligible/qualified local officers to fill top bureaucratic posts .
The meeting also approved the formation of a body to help protect the rights of the indigenous people against exploitation by the Government called 'Leihoumi Ngakpa Lup (Leingak Lup)'.
It further decided that a seven-member Management Committee be formed to run the organisation.
The meet entrusted the convener of Coordinating Committee of Civil Societies, Manipur to take up necessary action towards this end .
The public discussion also lauded O Nabakishore, IAS for withdrawing his resignation and CM N Biren for accepting the withdrawal of resignation of the IAS officer .
It also resolved to request the CM to reinstate O Nabakishore as the Chief Secretary of the State at the earliest .
The session was moderated by retired SP (Nagaland) Potshangbam Sonamani.
Mutum Churamani, president, LOUSAL; RK Tharaksana, president of WASDEV; cultural activist Ningthouja Lancha and Oinam Bimola, president of IKAL were the dais members.
