Tamenglong, June 01 2018:
The Khoupum Area Village Authority Council in a statement on Friday strongly condemned the State Government and the department concerned for their failure to send adequate doctors at the Khoupum Primary Health Centre, Khoupum Sub-Division, Tamenglong district.
The primary health centre has only one doctor at present who has been serving the people round the clock at a time when measles and diarrhoea hit the region claiming lives of two children, said the statement of the council.
Memorandum have been served to the Chief Minister and the Ministry concerned earlier on March 15, yet there is no development so far, said the council.
Schemes like Chief Minister gi Hakshelgi Tengbang will not succeed when there are no doctors available at the primary health centres, said the statement appealing the State Government to look into the matter and send adequate doctors at the Khoupum Primary Health Centre.
The people of the region along with civil organisations will be forced to take up stringent agitation if the Government failed to address the issue within one month, the council cautioned the Government.
