Imphal, July 31 2022:
Manipur Film Journalists and Critics' Association (MFJCA) president Manindra Konsam has remarked that some people are trying to deflect the assurance given by the Chief Minister for development of a full-fledged Manipur film industry and a financial corporation for Manipur films.
Addressing a press meet organised by Action Committee for Manipuri Film Industries at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, Manindra recounted that a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister on December 2, 2020 for reviving the Manipuri film industry.
In response, the CM assured of taking up necessary action in 2021 .
At that time, Manipur State Film Development Society secretary informed that a Film Commission was formed to translate the CM's assurances into action.
However, the Commission seems to be in the grasp of a group of people, who will not be able to fulfill the CM's assurance.
Thus, he urged the CM to look into the matter and rectify the problems so as to ensure the revival of the Manipur film industry.
