"Formal education and social development are inseparable.
The quality of the education in schools have an overall impact in the development of a society.
Improved education means developed society," said L Jayentakumar.
The Health and Family Welfare Minister was speaking as the chief guest at an award distribution ceremony held at MMRC Park, Khangabok Saturday.
Several meritorious students were awarded during the ceremony organised by Blooming Foundation Khangabok and KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok, Thaoubal.
The Minister categorically stressed the need to cultivate human resources as a means to improve and develop the State.
Education is a must to enhance and maximise the use of human resources available, said the Minister.
Identifying education in schools as backbone of the society, the Minister urged the teachers to take extra care of the students and guide them in the right directions.
"Education is the backbone of a society.
Teachers must equip the students with right knowledge for greater good and peace in future," said the Minister.
Speaking at the event, founder of KM Blooming Kh Menjor appreciated the meritorious students and urged the students to be more competitive and persevere.
Encouraging the students of Khangabok, Kh Menjor announced packages for students who excel in the coming board/council examiv nations of Class X and XII, He announced Rs 1 lakh; each for students of Khangabok who come in the first top 5 positions.
Rs 75,000 each to students who come in 6th to 20th position and Rs 50,000 for 21st to 25th position holders.
Edn Minister Th Radheshyam, DRDA Adakhshya T Nungshi, Khangabok ZP member Kh Rajmohon, Tourism Director W Ibohal, COHSEM Chairman L Mahindra and BOSEM Examination Controller L Phulochand attended the event as dignitaries.
