KSO calls general strike

Imphal, June 30 2017:
The KSO Ghqs has threatened to enforce an indefinite general strike from July 4 until the killers of HSO president Palal are arrested .
The KSO had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister on June 24 demanding the arrest of the killers within 48 hours .
After 48 hours, the investigating authority requested for extending the deadline.
The deadline was extended by four days and it expired today, according to a press release issued by KSO Gqs president Paotinthang Lupheng .
According to the press release, the investigating authority has already established the identities of the two assailants but no arrests have been made so far which has only aggravated the sentiments of people and civil society organisations .
As per the decision of the family, the dead body of the HSO president would not be claimed until and unless the culprits are arrested, it reiterated .
It further opined that it would be in the best interest of the killers to surrender to the police rather than go into hiding.
