Jawans kills SSB SI from State

Imphal, July 26 2011:
A Manipuri SSB officer posted in Thakurganj district of Bihar along Indo-Nepal border was shot dead by a jawan and fled away towards Nepal across the
international border.
The incident happened inside a post of 36th Bn SSB at Langraduba in Thakurganj district at about 10.20 pm of July 24 .
Sub-Inspector Laiphrakpam Khellen (50) of Moirang Yumkhaibam Leikai posted there was shot dead by a Constable cook cum water carrier using his service Insas rifle when Khellen was preparing to retire for the night inside a barrack.
The accused Constable identified as Harish from Haryana also fired at another officer when the latter tried to intervene.
The other officer was hit by a bullet on the leg.
Before the firing incident, all of them were watching television together.
After shooting Khellen and the other officer, the Constable flung his service rifle and fled away towards Nepal.
The corpse of SI Khellen was brought to Imphal airport from where it was taken to his native village.
