5th train arrives from Hyderabad with 536

Jiribam, May 19 2020:
For the fifth time, a special train arrived at Jiribam Railway Station at 9.45 am today bringing 536 stranded Manipuri people.
Under a prior arrangement of Jiribam district administration and other concerned authorities, the passengers got down from the train in district-wise manner.
This was followed by thermal screening of all the passengers one by one.
The medical teams stationed at the railway station also asked them if they have any health complaints/ailments like coughing, breathing difficulty etc.

After the screening process was completed, packaged food items and water were distributed to the returnees.
Then they were issued bus tickets for their respective districts from the counters opened by Transport Department.
Later, separate buses took 16 people to Ukhrul, 58 to Churachandpur and Pherzawl, 72 to Tamenglong, 22 to Kangpokpi, 39 to Chandel and Tengnoupal, 21 to Kakching, 32 to Bishnupur, 29 to Thoubal, 45 to Senapati, 63 to Imphal East and Kamjong, six to Jiribam, 38 to Noney and 88 to Imphal West.
In view of the scheduled arrival of train from Hyderabad, Jiribam District Magistrate imposed curfew at Jiribam from 5 am to 12 noon today.
Earlier trains carrying Manipuri passengers from Chennai, Bengaluru and Vadodara had arrived.
