Imphal, March 18 2015:
Anti-AFSPA campaigner Irom Chanu Sharmila has said that Manipur will land in a state of turmoil if the Government continues to overlook the aspirations of the common people and run the administration at their fancy and whim.
Speaking to reporters after her routine appearance before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West, Sharmila said that people must not rule out involvement of security personnel in the series of blasts that have rocked Imphal recently as the Government and security agencies are in favour of imposition of AFSPA in the State.
Even Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam had admitted that there might be black sheep among security personnel, she added.

Regarding ILPS, Sharmila questioned why the State Government is not willing to enforce an Act which can effectively protect the indigenous people and their tradition and culture.
Coming down heavily on the Government over forcefully passing a Bill which has met strong opposition from the general public, Sharmila said that it is unfortunate that the Government has acted against the wish of the people.
If the Government continues to work at their fancy and whim, Manipur would land in a state of turmoil, she cautioned.
She said that India is a democratic country and the Government must not violate the entitled rights of its citizens.
Earlier, Sharmila was produced before the Court regarding the case taken up against her under Section 309 (attempting to commit suicide) and FIR number (1) 2015 of City police station.
She routinely appears in the Court every 15 days.
In today's hearing, the Court remanded her to judicial custody till April 1 .
It may be mentioned that Sharmila was re-arrested two days after she was discharged from the charges of Section 309 by a verdict of JMIC Imphal East on January 22 last.
After her release from the judicial custody, she continued her hunger strike at Shamu Makhong.
She was rushed to JNIMS hospital as her health deteriorated in the evening of January 23.Sharmila was formally arrested under Section 309 from the hospital by a team of City police station the next day.
