NPF will not pull out: BJP

Imphal, May 16 2019: BJP Manipur State unit has clarified that it does not believe Naga People's Front (NPF) will pull out from the BJP led coalition Government, adding that even if the party does decide to end the alliance, it will not have any tangible impact on the State Government.

Speaking to The Sangai Express, former BJP State unit president and present advisor to the CM, M Bhorot said that even if the NPF, which has 4 MLAs, decides to pull out from the alliance, the BJP has made all necessary preparations to avert any negative impact on the Government.

Bhorot continued that after settling all differences, the numerous parties came together to form the Government in the interest of the people.

When it comes to places like Ukhrul, Senapati, Tengnoupal and Tamenglong, more often than not, the NPF is always involved when it comes to any developmental works or projects, he added.

Government spokesperson Th Radheshyam has also clarified that there are no problems or cracks within the coalition Government led by BJP.

Speaking to media persons at his office chamber today regarding a news item published in local dailies that NPF is set to decide whether it will continue to stay in the coalition Government or pull out completely on charges that elected members of the party are ill treated by the leaders of the coalition Government, Radheshyam explained that as per his knowledge, NPF has expressed some concerns on how to have a better coalition Government in the State and claimed that there might have been some communication gap as NPF has never said that it is going to pull out from the coalition Government.

NPF has said that they are going to have a meeting on May 18 at the party head office in Kohima to review steps to ensure better performance of the coalition Government, added Radheshyam.

He further said that NPF has never made any statement to withdraw support to the Government even though they might have expressed some dissatisfaction with the Government but after May 23, the coalition will become more solidified.

He also said that there is nothing to worry at the present as everything will be sorted out after a talk.

The Minister further claimed that everything is fine with the different partners and added that there is no problem in the coalition Government.
