Deputy Chief Minister visits injured victims, condemns blast

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Gaikhangam while visiting the injured victims of the September 13 Nagamapal bomb blast today at Shija Hospitals, has condemned the bomb attack as barbaric.
The bomb blast left nine migrant workers dead and 11 injured including one Nongmaithem Somorendro of Nagamapal Phougeishangbam Leikai.
The injured victims have been identified as Burhan Ali (25), Shahidur Islam (22), Md Muksidul Islam (25), Md Shamshul Haque (18), Md Mujibur Ali (25), Md Rafiqul Islam (23), Md Dildar Ali, Md Muktar Hussain (25), Lalchan Ali (21), Md Babul Ali and N Somorendro.
The first ten victims are from Assam.
The Deputy Chief Minister accompanied by DGP MK Das visited the injured victims at Shija Hospital.
Speaking to media persons during the visit, Gaikhangam said that the bomb attack was the most dastardly, heinous and bestial criminal act.

The bomb blast is being investigated by the State police and as of now, there is no question of roping in any other investigation agency.
It is too early to point out which UG group was behind the bomb attack.
Nonetheless, the perpetrators can be certainly identified one day.
To thwart off similar attacks in future, police have taken all possible security measures, stated the Deputy Chief Minister.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister and the DGP visited labourers of Simplex Company currently accommodated at Mantripukhri Secretariat complex presently under construction.
The complex where the labourers are accommodated is being guarded by a platoon of 7th MR since yesterday.
Moreover, police have advised migrant workers to stick together and not to venture out at night.
The Deputy Chief Minister and the DGP also inspected the blast site.
Notably, the State Government has already announced ex-gratia of Rs four lakh for each one killed in the blast, Rs 50,000 for each of the critically injured victims and Rs 10,000 each for those who sustained minor injuries.
