Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, a top official of the School Education Department said as the Government of India has taken a decision to the effect of running 2500 schools located in different parts of the country under PPP model by private companies, the State Government has also proposed the same model here.
However, it is yet to be finalised on how many Government schools would be brought under the PPP model and which firms/private companies would be invited for the purpose, said the source and added that the final decision will be taken by the Centre.

Classes upto the xth standard will come under the PPP model, the official said.
It may be noted here that apart from the poor performance and failure of the Government schools to produce student toppers, there have been many Government schools which go nil in the results of the class X and XII examinations.
On the day of announcing the results of HSLC examination, 2011 on Sunday night, Education Minister DD Thaisii himself admitted this fact and assured that necessary steps would be taken up.
