Mortal remains of Grinder brought back

The mortal remains of Grinder Muivah� a 'go between' for the Indo-Naga peace talks, who passed away yesterday at Delhi was brought here today.
A condolence programme, attended by various civil society organisations was held at Imphal Airport after the arrival of the mortal remains of Grinder Muivah today.
Prominent leaders of UNC, Naga Political Forum, various tribes' leaders, NPF MLAs Dikho and ST Nunghlung Victor, DC of Tamenglong district, Principal Secretary (TA and Hills) etc attended the condolence programme at the Airport.
The body was later taken to Grinder's residence at Fairy Land.
A condolence service will also be organised by Tangkhul Naga Long at TNL ground, Ukhrul tomorrow before the body is finally laid to rest at his birth place, Somdal in Ukhrul district.

Grinder Muivah was born on Sept 10, 1958 at Somdal village.
He graduated from St Stephen's College, DU in 1982.He completed MBA from Delhi in 1985 .
After venturing into various business activities, Grinder got himself registered as a full fledged Govt contractor with CPWD and MES in 1992.He served as the president of CPWD Special Contractors' Association of NE from 1999 to 2001 .
In 1995, the Union Home Ministry approached him to be the 'go-between' for the GoI-NSCN (IM) political dialogue.
He was married to Sonia Muivah in 1987.He is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.
He passed away at a hospital in New Delhi yesterday due to an illness.
At the same time, Chairman of ADC, Ukhrul, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung has condoled the sudden demise of Grinder Muivah.
Dr Yaronsho remembered him as a man of vision and said that his political will has immensely helped the cause of the Nagas.
He also shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family and prayed that his soul rest in peace.
The Naga People's Front (NPF), Manipur State Unit has also condoled the demise of Grinder Muivah.
NPF Manipur unit President Awangbou Newmai in a statement noted that late Grinder Muivah who was a falicitator of Indo-Naga peace process as a 'go- in- between' was learned and a man of great personality.
Praising the late Naga leader, he stated that his service towards the Nagas and peace loving people will never go in vain.
He was ever ready to share his opinion and give advice whenever needed.
"We have lost a great Naga leader whose place will be very difficult to take over.
We pray for the strength of Grinder Muivah's beloved family members to be able to overcome the saddest moment", the NPF president prayed.
