One death mars low count of 9 cases

Imphal, February 03 2021:
Even as the number of active cases has come down to just 111, COVID-19 claimed the life of one 47-year-old man in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 372 .
The 47-year-old was from Chandel and he expired at Shija Hospital.
The last death due to Covid was reported on January 29 .
On the other hand, a total of 9 persons, all civilians tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, said Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
The total number of positive cases has reached 29,086 while the number of recovered cases is 28,603 with a recovery rate of 98.33 percent.
The 9 persons who tested positive in the last 24 hours include 6 males and 3 females.
They tested positive for the virus at testing facilities at Shija Hospital (6), Churachandpur (2) and Escent Diagnostics (1) .
They hail from Churachandpur (2), Imphal West (2), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Chandel (1) and Imphal East (1) .
Meanwhile, 9 persons also recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
While 7 of them were under home isolation, the remaining two have been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres opened at RIMS (1) and SHRI (l), said the Government report issued by Additional Director (Health), Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases has reached 29,086 including 25,661 civilians and 3,425 Central security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases (after reconciliation with the data from IDSP, Home Isolation, Covid Care Centres team and Death Committee Report as on 3rd February) is 28,603 .
The figure includes 25,193 civilians and 3,410 Central security personnel, said the report.
