Imphal, August 01 2011:
Asserting that the arrest of one Sagolsem Bode of Mayang Imphal Konchak Mamang Leikai from his house by the police was in connection with the theft of a computer set provided by GAD, Government of Manipur from his quarters, MLA of Mayang Imphal Constituency Dr Kh Ratankumar has observed that whether Bode is guilty or not would be decided by the law court.
Talking to mediapersons in his official residence at Babapura today, MLA Ratankumar said that Sagolband Bode is an unofficial staff staying in his quarters and he steathily took away the computer set provided officially to every MLAs by GAD.
The driver named Shankar saw Bode taking away the computer set and informed the police, who consequently arrested Bode along with the computer set from his own house.
The police investigation is still on to find out why and for what purpose Bode stole the computer set, the MLA added.
The MLA further informed that since there were many confidential datas in the computer set, some important files too have been stolen by Bode.
Among the stolen files, there were lists of AK Oil and Rationing agents and their telephone numbers.
The MLA suspected that the stolen files may have been given over to one UG group.
Let the Court decide whether Bode is guilty or not and politicising the issue to incite the public would not being any solution, the MLA observed, adding that the computer sets provided by the GAD are to be taken back by GAD again and no MLAs could own possession of these computer sets.
