Pre-Medical Test Board admits error, apologises Final select list on the way

Conceding that an inadvertent mistake had occurred in the recent conduct of Manipur MBBS/BDS entrance examination, members of the Selection Board today sought apology from all concerned, particularly the candidates.
While the admission was made during a media briefing at the RD Wing Hall of Medical Directorate, Lamphelpat today which was attended by Board Chairman K Moses Chalai, who is also the Commissioner (Health), and panel members S Surchandra (Director/Health) and T Bualchhuaka (Under Secretary/Health), the Board officials also assured that such an error would not recur in the future.
After ascertaining the final number of MBBS/BDS seats available to the State from JNIMS, RIMS, RDC Gauhati and Central Pool quota, a final select list shall be prepared with the approval of the Government to be followed by Counselling on a scheduled date.
Pointing out that based on notification, two applications were received for re-checking a question in Physics with the complainants citing mistake in the answer key of the Department, they explained the sequence of mistake.
On further examination, it came to light than an inadvertent mistake had occurred in a question of Physics regarding key answer of Question No.10, 20, 5 & 25 of series code A, B, C & D respectively, which was committed by both the State Moderators and outside Question Setters of Physics.
Both the original Question setters and State Moderators admitted the mistake and agreed that the answer to the particular question shall be "C" instead of "B", the officials maintained adding that accordingly Mumbai-based M/s Exxon Automation Pvt.
Ltd., was asked to revise the result.
According to the revised result submitted by the Mumbai firm in late evening of June 22, a revised result of PMT entrance test was published the same evening through internet : www.
manipurhealthservices.in & www.manipurhealthdirectorate.in.
It so happened that M/s, Exxon Ltd., further uploaded another revised result the next morning informing that the correction of the above mentioned answer key was not applied due to programmatic error to the answer papers of series D, in the above revised result.
They also conveyed of the Mumbai firm expressing deep regret over the mistake while assuring correctness of the 2nd revised list (submitted on June 23). The final revised result of the Entrance Examination, as submitted by M/s Exxon Ltd., was made public instantly (June 23), informed the trio with the assertion that another complaint was received from a candidate with regard to Zoology Question No.90 of series code "C".
However, both original Question setter and State Moderator stood by their key answer and the complaint was declined, they said.
