Foundation stone laid for Children Park at Henglep

Chief Minister N Biren Singh visited S Kholian (Thingkeu Village) in Henglep sub-division of Churachandpur district today and laid foundation stones for Amusement cum Children Park to be constructed at Songpi village with an estimated cost of Rs 4.8 crore and upgradation of Henglep Thingkeu Tipaimukh Road (31.782 km) with a work order amounting Rs 75.94 crore.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated Henglep High School (6 Classrooms) at Henglep constructed at the cost of Rs 57.28 lakh and Transit Quarter (for Medical and Education staff) constructed with a cost of Rs 73.67 lakh under Backward Block Development Fund, North Eastern Council.
Addressing the gathering, N Biren Singh stated that the Go to Hills Mission was launched to bridge the gap between hill and valley regions.

"Since then, the Go to Hills programme and even Cabinet meetings had been held at different district headquarters to review the progress of developmental works taken up in the areas," he added.
The Chief Minister also stressed on the need to keep aside all differences and work together to ensure uniform development of the State.
Saying that Churachandpur is blessed with a medical college with capacity of 100 MBBS seats, he appealed to the public to refrain from imposing bandh and strike to air their grievances but reach out to the Government to solve any issue.
He further appealed to the people to extend support to the Government in taking up developmental projects.
On the road development work at Tipaimukh Road (NH-150), N Biren requested the NHIDCL officials to make a proposal for widening the road to a double lane as the locals had agreed not to take compensation.
N Biren informed that Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) would be constructed at Henglep district headquarters while amusement parks are being constructed at seven districts including Churachandpur.
Further appealing to the people to shun deforestation for poppy plantations, the Chief Minister urged all Superintendents of Police to initiate immediate actions against poppy cultivators.
Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Tribal Affairs and Hills Minister Letpao Haokip, Chairman of Hill Areas Committee Dinganglung Gangmei and MLA of Henglep AC Letzamang Haokip accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit.
