Imphal, September 28 2017:
Andro A/C MLA and MAHUD Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar, mocked the claims made by Thangmeiband MLA, Kh Joykisan regarding the kerosene quota given to the MLAs, and taunted him to come to Andro kendra if the MLA face any shortage of kerosene .
Shyamkumar made the statement at a function held at the office of the Manipur State Cooperative Bank, Old Assembly road today .
Speaking at the event, Shyamkumar said that the State Government came up with the Night Plaza initiative taking into account the hectic and busy lifestyles of today's society and to give people of Manipur, a chance to connect and relax with their families and loved ones, by means of going for outings during the evening and early night .
Contradicting the claims made by Joykisan, he said that the law and order situation of the State has drastically improved .
AFSPA has been removed from seven Assembly segments of Imphal and the plans for night plaza came as a result of the vastly improved law and order situation in the State compared to early days, he added .
Shyamkumar further expressed belief that the night plaza will succeed as the people of Manipur will support the idea .
Pointing out the allegations made by Kh Joykisan regarding the kerosene quota, Shyamkumar taunted the MLA to come and take the kerosene he need from Andro kendra as the people of the kendra now have proper supply of electricity and cooking gas, that they no longer take their kerosene quota and as a result, around 60,000 litres of kerosene are left unused every month .
He further added that he himself will deliver the oil to the MLA if he really needs it.
