Cabinet okays ADC polls in 10 districts

Imphal, March 27 2021:
As already approved by the State Cabinet, a Cabinet meeting held today approved holding of Autonomous Dis-trict Council (ADC) elections in the State including the four new districts- Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Pherzawl and Noney for which necesary steps will be taken up by the authority concerned.
The Cabinet also approved setting up of a state-of-the-art multi-speciality cancer institute under DBFO (Design, Build, Finance & Operate) mode in JNIMS campus and inclusion of nine different employments as scheduled Employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and fixation of minimum rates of wages for the employees.
The Cabinet further considered and approved adoption of Manipur Service (Revised Pay) Rules, 2019 for the officers and staff of High Court of Manipur.
For Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, the State Cabinet approved notification of the draft Manipur Rural Employment (Payment of Unemployment Allowance) Guarantee Rules, 2021 under section 32(1) of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 and amendment of provision of rules for conduct of Panchayat election and engagement of manpower under Social Audit Unit (Manipur Social Audit Agency).
Enhancement of honorarium for Members of the Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW); inclusion of nine different employments as Scheduled Employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and fixation of minimum rates of wages for the employees were also approved in the Cabinet meeting.
The State Cabinet decided to hand over the matter of procuring land and development of a Manipur Guest House at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai to the GAD for necessary process.
