Imphal, November 24 2016:
A high level team of IOC officials from Guwahati and Digboi arrived here today and conducted an internal enquiry at PCTC where an oil tanker caught fire yesterday resulting in an inferno although there was no casualty.
The high-level enquiry team is expected to file a report shortly.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur IOCL RO/Dealers' Association has hailed the fire fighters of Manipur Fire Service and IOC for their heroic deed of containing the blazing fire before it could cause a major disaster.
The association has also appealed to all concerned to abide by all relevant safety rules so as to avoid such disastrous accidents in future.
On the other hand, amidst the UNC's indefinite economic blockade, 128 loaded oil tankers and LPG bullets arrived there today from Jiribam with security escorts.
Out of the 128 tankers which arrived here at around 2 pm, 41 were loaded with petrol, 56 with diesel, three with SK Oil, three with ATF and 25 with LPG.
However, petrol supplied from IOC's depot to ROs today was not meant for distribution to public, informed a source.
