KNO celebrates 27th Raising Day

The Kuki National Organisation today celebrated its 27th Raising Day at Kholmun with its President calling on all to whole heartedly commit to the noble endeavor of ZORO so that they may in a united manner achieve the liberation of the ethnic people and receive their rights and due in this world.
Addressing the gathering, the KNO President PS Haokip said that the long-lost brethren in Kachin, who have received the good news of unification, invited representatives of ZORO and KNO at their festival in the first-half of Feb at Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh.
He said the Kachin who has long regarded the Kukis as their elder brother sang with joy, that their elder brother has joined them and that they are together now.
He went on to claim that the Kachin State of Burma covering upto Changlang district in Arunachal and Tuensang and Mon district of the Konyak and Khimnungam region in present day Nagaland as well as the land of Heimi people in Myanmar to which tribe SS Khaplang belongs, including upper Chindwon and Kale Kabow valley in Sagaing division are entirely ethnic Kachin-Kuki inhabited.

Calling on the people he said, today the Zo people dispersed in three different countries, India, Myanmar and Bangladesh are coming together as the one people that Almighty created under Zo Re-unification Organsiation.
'We are Mizo in the State of Mizoram, Chin in Chin State, Kachin in Kachin State and we are Kuki in the rest such as Sagaing division of Burma, Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Tripura and the Chittagong hill tracts in Bangladesh,' he added.
He said, 'therefore, on the occasion of the 27th KNO raising day, I extort every KNO civil official, army officer, cadres and Kuki citizens to commit whole heartedly to the noble endeavor of ZORO so that we may in a united manner achieve the liberation of our ethnic people and receive our rights and due in this world as laid out by the United Nations Organisations, guaranteed in the UN declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples' .
