CCpur, October 23 2020:
The Singngat Assembly seat was sealed today as the Returning Officer handed over certificate of election to Ginsuanhau alias GS Haupu to confirm his re-election following the withdrawal of Chinlunthang as an Independent candidate a day before.
Chinlunthang who dramatically withdrew his candidature yesterday meanwhile addressed his workers today at his residence saying his actions were triggered by the fervent appeal from National workers, tribe leaders and his own conscience to avoid polarization of the community he represents.
The decision he said will also improve his chances of winning in the next Assembly election due sometime in 2022 .

His own election committee, the United Zou Organisation and Kuki Inpi Churachandpur are some of the many prominent organisations and individuals that appealed to him to withdraw from the by-election, he said.
Chinlunthang also talked about a WhatsApp message that purportedly showed his appointment as OSD in TD and Hills, which went viral on the social media saying he is elated to have been offered the job but was not in a position to accept the Government job as he is committed to serving the public.
While congratulating Ginsuanhau on his re-election Chinlungthang said it is only normal to contest against each other during election time.
He also nevertheless requested him to not resign from his seat for the remaining tenure.
KIC president Letpu Haokip and UZO general secretary while addressing the workers claimed that both the parties had been witness to an agreement that triggered Chinlunthang's resignation but both failed to dwell in details on the purported agreement.
GS Haupu meanwhile received his certificate of election from the RO at the Churachandpur's DC office chamber today in the presence of Vungzagin Valte, Minister TA & Hills, GAD and Transport.
He was also accompanied by Benjamin Mate BJP election committee in-charge, Henlianthang Thanglet BJP campaign co-ordinator and Khaipao Haokip president BJP Churachandpur.
Celebrating his election along with his workers at his private residence, Ginsuanhau said his obedience has paid off as he had joined the BJP on the advice of National workers who assured uncontested re-election even if there is a by-election.
He also hailed Chinlunthang for taking the decision to withdraw his candidature and subsequently ensured his re-election uncontested.
