Imphal, May 22 2020:
An individual who returned from Delhi tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS last night.
As such, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State has reached 26 and these include 24 active cases.
The individual with stuffy nose tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS last night, according to a statement issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The 22 year old individual from Bishnupur district returned from Delhi by bus recently and he was quarantined at the quarantine centre opened at UNACCO School, Meitram.
The individual who is currently undergoing treatment at the COVID care facility of RIMS is said to be in good health condition.

The number of COVID-19 positive cases shot up rapidly in the State during the past couple of days but all these positive cases happened to be people who were stranded outside the State and returned recently, Dr Sasheekumar said.
He also appealed to all the people to maintain social distance and wash hands frequently and thoroughly using soap or hand sanitiser.
Taking serious note of the rapid spike in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State, Health Department has initiated due measures to open isolation wards having 30 beds each in all district hospitals and sub-district hospitals.
Health Director Dr K Rajo today issued a circular directing Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of Bishnupur, Chandel, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Senapati, Tamenglong, Thoubal and Ukhrul to arrange isolation wards having 30 beds each in their respective districts, informed a source.
