Imphal, November 18 2012:
Taking serious note of the indefinite bandh being imposed on National Highways and State Highways under the stewardship of KSDC, the State Government is readying to send 150 empty trucks for ferrying essential commodities along NH-37 with security escorts tomorrow.
On the other hand, bandh supporters have stationed themselves at different points along the highway to thwart movement of truck convoys with or without security escorts, disclosed a source.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Gaikhangam arrived here from New Delhi today.
But he did not bring any written assurance regarding the KSDC's demands.
Subsequently, KSDC has started rounds of discussion to intensify their agitation.
Due to the indefinite bandh, there was no movement of vehicles along Imphal-Jiribam highway today.
