Demanding justice for Loitam Richard and Okram Laba who were allegedly murdered, students of various schools located in Greater Imphal area have burnt effigies of Manipur CM, Karnataka CM and Union Home Minister apart from staging sit in protest at various places.
Responding to the call of influential students' organisations like AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and SWAK in demanding justice for Loitam Richard and Okram Laba, students of CC Higher Secondary School, Ram Lal Paul Hr Sec School, and Lamlong Higher Secondary School staged sit-in protest at their respective premises today by cancelling classes.
Apart from burning the effigies of Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram; Karnataka CM Sadananda Gowda and Manipur CM O Ibobi, the agitating students raised several slogans condemning the killing of two students and subsequent indifferent attitude of the authorities concerned.
Meanwhile, addressing media this evening representatives of the six students' bodies said it is very unfortunate that the Government remains indifferent to the sufferings of the NE students.

Alleging that the forensic report on the death of L Richard was forged, the students' representatives said it was condemnable while also conveying their dissatisfaction.
Stating that no report has been made available to the public even as the SP, who was deputed to conduct enquiry on the death, has returned some time back, the students' bodies also demanded that the case be handed over to an independent agency like CBI.
Drawing the attention of the Government authority in this regard, the student leaders also urged the Government to take up immediate initiative to this end.
The leaders also warned of intensifying their agitations in case the Government continues to maintain its indifferent attitude in solving the case.
At the same time, the Shillong Manipuri Students Union has also urged the Central Government to deliver justice for Richard and Dana Sangma.

At Moreh Trade Centre, the Advisor to the Prime Minister held a meeting with Indian traders where many traders shared their experiences about the border trade.
After listening to all the complaints put up by traders, TKA Nair assured that all the grievances would be looked into.
Border Trade and Chambers of Commerce, Moreh secretary Surender Singh Patheja apprised the Advisor about different problems besetting Moreh including electricity and telecommunication problems.
