Imphal, August 16 2011:
Naga People's Organisation (NPO), Senapati has questioned the alleged 'hidden motives' of the State Govt in dealing with the prevailing situation over the demand for district status to Sadar Hills.
''It is shocking but true, the ongoing agitation and the Government's stance on the issue has given concrete reasons to conclude that the whole situation was created and instigated by the State Government to divide Nagas and Kukis in Manipur'', NPO president ML Markson alleged in a statement.
With patience running out in addressing even emergency medical and other public necessities, the 'hand-in-glove drama' of the State Government must stop immediately or the NPO will be compelled to launch its own course of action, Markson warned.
He asserted that ever since the indefinite strike launched by SHDDC over its demand for upgradation of Sadar hills to a full-fledged district, the present SPF Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has continued to remain 'calm and unbothered' even in the face of humanitarian crisis in Naga area and the Government has miserably failed to react positively to the demand of UNC to relax the bandh within 24 hours to address the humanitarian issues.
Any communal and divisive agenda of the Government should not be considered as an opportunity for other communities to benefit at the expense of the Nagas.
Moreover, considering the contentious issue, any prejudice decision of the State Government without the consent of the Nagas will only promote bloodshed rather than communal harmony, NPO cautioned and added that the discriminative designs of a communal administrator against the Nagas would be reacted accordingly
without any hesitations.
