Chief Minister O Ibobi has urged Governor SS Sidhu to intervene and help in initiating a meaningful dialogue between the Central leaders and leaders of Apunba Lup who are currently spearheading the ongoing agitation demanding for complete removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from the State, disclosed a senior Cabinet Minister of the SPF Government.
Talking to The Sangai Express, the senior Cabinet Minister informed that Chief Minister O Ibobi made the request while briefing the Governor on the prevailing political scenario and the law and order condition of the State at the Raj Bhavan yesterday.
The Chief Minister also assured to extend all possible help from his side if Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil make any attempt to continue the talks with the Apunba Lup leaders through the Governor, added the senior Cabinet Minister.
Chief Minister O Ibobi left for New Delhi today to present the Plan Size of the State to the Planning Commission.
Mention may be made here that leaders of the Apunba Lup had declared to continue the ongoing agitation for the complete removal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act and pledged that until and less the dreaded Act is lifted from the State, the agitation will continue.
