Five complaints lodged via cVIGIL

Even as Deputy Election Commissioner of Election Commission, Sudeep Jain is set to visit Imphal on March 19 and inspect the ongoing preparations of the election swift actions were taken up on five complaints lodged against violation of model code of conduct through cVIGIL.
An official from the CEO office, Manipur, has conveyed that five complaints were lodged regarding violation of model code of conduct after Election Commission imposed the same and fitting actions were taken up to solve the address.
The Election Commission, with a view to keep a strict vigil on violators of the code of conduct, introduced the cVIGIL application for the first time in the ensuing election adding that any person can send image or video of the violator through the application, maintained the official.
The official further stated that toll free number 1950 can be contacted to verify or check the inclusion of the name of voter in the electoral roll while urging all to avail the benefit of the toll free number.
Meanwhile, Deputy Election Commissioner of ECI, Sudeep Jain will examine the ongoing preparation of the upcoming election of the two Parliamentary Constituencies which will be held on April 11 and 18.The Deputy Election Commissioner will also hold meetings with political party representatives, Chief Secretary, DGP, DCs and SPs to collect necessary reports.
On the other hand, Chief Electoral Officer PK Singh held video conference with DCs and SPs and reviewed the present situation of the preparation while meetings were also held with the nodal officers.
More than 100 vehicles will be transporting Central para military forces personnel, the official informed adding that the forces are likely to reach Imphal tomorrow.
The official went on to state that three helicopters will be utilised to transport polling officials to far flung polling stations of the State and one helicopter will be kept aside for medical emergencies.
It may be mentioned that the election notification for Outer Parliamentary Constituency and Inner Parliamentary Constituency will be issued on March 18 and 19 respectively.
