The people in Manipur will celebrate Patriot�s Day tomorrow at different places of the State.
Many voluntary organisations will organize the celebrations on their own besides the State function to be held at B T Park.
Hicham Yaichampat and Thangal Temple at Wangkhei Palace Compound.
Governor Ved Marwah and Advisor (R) to the Governor K Kipgen will grace the State function as the chief guest and president respectively.
The programme will be opened with prabhat phery at 4 am.
Floral tributes would be paid at Hicham Yaichampat, Moirangkhom and at the complex of Thangal General, Palace Compound.
In his message to the people of Manipur a the Governor remembered the heroic sacrifices of Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, Paona Brajabasi, Nirajan Subedar, Kajao, Charai Thangal and all the martyrs who gave up their lives for the cause of freedom.
Patriots Day reminds us the patriotic fervour, selfless sacrifices, determination and indomitable courage displayed by the people of Manipur for the freedom of their motherland.
Our best homage to the valiant freedom fighters of Manipur would be to resolve to translate their vision of a peaceful and prosperous Manipur into a reality, he said.
Manipur is now passing through a very difficult phase.
Let us on this occasion, therefore, take a solemn pledge to rededicate ourselves to strengthen the bond of oneness of our people, and build a strong edifice of the nation for marching ahead relentlessly in building a peaceful and prosperous Manipur, he said.
AISF, AMYPO and Social Welfare Club, Khangabok will jointly observe the Patriot�s Day at the premises of the Club.
Joint Co-ordinating Committee, Langol will celebrate the Day at Meitei Mandop, Housing Complex , TN Haokip, ex-MLA, O Biren, Director, Statistics Deptt, and T Mangibabu, Ex-MLA will be the chief guest, president and guest of honour.
Huiyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Irilbung will observe the day at its office.
