Imphal, May 08 2016:
ILPS or a similar mechanism could not be enforced in the State in spite of the people's struggle on account of the Congress Government's failure to act in accordance with the people's collective wish and aspiration, asserted BJP MLA Th Bishwajit.
He was speaking at a political conference held at the residence of BJP Kshetrigao Mandal State counsellor P Premananda at Naharup Mayai Leikai today.
He stressed the need to enforce ILPS or a similar mechanism in view of the indigenous peoples' minuscule population.
If the Congress party was committed, they could have enacted ILPS or a similar mechanism years back.
ILPS could not be implemented because the Congress Government is not sincere enough.
Former Opposition leader O Joy said that it was successive Congress Governments at the Centre which introduced all kinds of graft and corrupt practices in the country.
It's time for the Congress party to be uprooted from the country, Joy asserted.
BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Prof S Tiken exuded that the party's leadership would allot tickets to the most competent aspirants who would dedicate themselves to people's welfare.
P Premananda pledged that he would put in his best efforts to install a transparent BJP Government in the State.
He said that he would fight the next State Assembly election if he is given BJP ticket.
Former BJP Manipur Pradesh president Sh Shantikumar said that people of Manipur have benefited very little from the huge amounts of fund invested by the Centre on account of the State Government's failure to utilise the money in a productive manner.
Former president Dr H Borbabu, former MP BD Behring and BJP Imphal East district president Md Abdullah also took part in the conference.
