PLA workers nabbed

Three workers of the outlawed RPF/PLA have been arrested by Imphal West district police from different locations today.
Reports said a worker of the outfit identified as Nongmaithem Leishemba alias Chitteshwor (40) s/o Joykumar of Keishampat Aheibam Leikai was apprehended by a team of the district police from Kei-shampat Junction at around 1.30 pm.
A 9 mm pistol loaded with seven live rounds was found from his possession.
Leishemba revealed that the pistol was handed over to him by one unknown person at Keishampat Junction in third week of March as per the directive of Sanajaoba of RPF/PLA, who is presently working as the Publicity-in-Charge of CorCom, a conglomerate of several outfits.
From his disclosure, two more workers of the outfit were arrested from Kwakeithel Nganappi Thong, the reports said.
They are identified as Meisnam Inaokee (44) s/o Joykumar of Kwakeithel Nganappi Thong and his younger brother Inaomacha (41).The three arrested workers of the outfit confessed that they used the seized 9 mm pistol on rotation basis for extortion and threatening people.
They also revealed that Leishemba once fired two rounds of bullets from the pistol a few days back, it added.
On the other hand, a combined team of Imphal East district commando and 6 Assam Rifles arrested a sympathizer of RPF/PLA in a search operation conducted at Uran Chiru village at around 10.40 am.
The operation was launched under the overall supervision of Addl SP (Operation) Imphal East, K Meghachandra.
The arrested sympathizer has been identified as Alar Chiru (50) s/o Soning Chiru of Uran Chiru village.
He was arrested from his residence.
A 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds was found by the police team.
The pistol was kept concealed in a thick bush situated on the northwestern side of his residential compound.
He disclosed that the pistol was handed over to him by one Dilip Leishemba of RPF/PLA in June, 2015 .
The arrested person along with the seized arm has been handed over to Irilbung police station.
