Although most of the petrol pumps have run out of stock due to a massive landslide on NH-2 and break down of Barak bridge on NH-37, fuel oil are still abundantly available in the black market at exorbitant prices.
The price of petrol in the black market has shot up to Rs 170-200 per litre and the price of diesel to Rs 120-150 per litre.
Although, police have launched drives against black marketers, diesel and petrol are still openly sold on road sides and pan shops.
Most of the schools recorded low attendance as almost all the school transporters could not get fuel oil.
People keep their vehicles lined up at different petrol pumps even at night to get fuel oil.
Talking to this reporter, a school van driver urged the Government to take up immediate measures to end this fuel scarcity.
