Chief Minister O Ibobi called on Governor Gurbachan Jagat today and discussed the issues surrounding the July 23 incident at BT Road.
According to sources, the meeting began from 3.30 pm and continued till 4.30 pm.
During the meeting, which lasted for one hour, the Chief Minister is reported to have apprised the Governor of the steps being taken up by the State Government in connection with the incident that left two persons, including a pregnant woman, dead and five civilians wounded.

On the other hand, earlier during the day, a high level security meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the chair was held to discuss ways and means of controlling the tense situation prevailing in the State, more particularly in the four valley districts following the public protest over the July 23 incident at BT Road.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Deputy Commissioners and SPs of the four valley districts as well as the commandants of IRB and MR.Along with taking serious note of the prevailing law and order situation, the Chief Minister issued instructions to all concerned to take up necessary steps towards ensuring the situation does not get out of control.
Instructions have also been given to ensure protection of the Government offices and buildings from being targeted.
