UNACCO school inaugurated CM stresses on social norms

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated UNACCO School at Chanung, which is a fully residential co-educational school today.
Works Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Public Health Engineering Minister L Susindro Meitei, Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd Chairman MLA Kh Ibomcha and MLA of Khundrakpam AC Th Lokeshwar also attended the programme.
Speaking as the chief, N Biren Singh said that the contribution of education in the development of a society is immense.
He appealed to all teachers to teach social norms to the students apart from imparting academic knowledge.
Saying that there are many people who excel academically but don't think about their parents and the society they belong to, the Chief Minister asked whether those people who ignore their parents and the society at large after becoming successful can be counted as educated.

The Chief Minister went on to state that teaching social norms and discipline to the young folks are equally important for the society to grow.
Mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mantra of 'Nation First' is praiseworthy, N Biren maintained that those who are truly educated will never engage in activities which are detrimental to the society.
He went on to state that education should be used for the betterment of the Nation, adding that there would be no meaning of education if it is used to destroy the society.
Continuing that emergence of many entrepreneurs in Manipur and the role they take in shaping the society is laudable, N Biren said that establishing some fine hotels by a select few has made it easier for the tourists to find places of accommodation in Manipur.
Claiming that Manipur is becoming a favourite destination for many tourists, the Chief Minister stated that the Government has plans to establish a five star hotel in Manipur to promote tourism furthermore.
The pace of development will be slower without the involvement of entrepreneurs, he acknowledged and added that the Government introduced the Start-up Scheme to promote entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
N Biren further stated that the Government will introduce All Manipur Entrepreneurs Award next year.
Chairman of UNACCO School Ningombam Irabanta said that entrepreneurship is progressing fast in Manipur and the State has the maximum number of registered entrepreneurs in North East India.
The school inaugurated today will give world class education and there is a plan to increase it to college level, he added.
Administrators, entrepreneurs, officials of UNACCO School and students also attended the programme among others.
