Imphal, March 04 2023:
Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam inaugurated Honeycomb Foundation at Mongsangei Boroi Makhong, today.
The foundation will provide learning facilities for children from pre-primary to lower KG classes.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Nishi-kant maintained that parents should not put much education-related pressure on young children.
Saying that children must take part in different co-curricular activities to develop their social skill, Nishikant continued that parents must also encourage children to hone their skill in whatever fields they prefer, be it music, painting, sports or any other.
The MLA also said that parents should never pressure their children to bag top positions in school examinations, specially in their tender age and at the same time school authorities must not burden the children by giving too much homeworks.

He further stated that young students will hesitate to attend school if teachers scold or punish them routinely.
Continuing that love for the society where he or she resides has to be nurtured automatically, Nishikant went on to state that a person who has no love for his/her society could never be considered as educated, no matter how much education he or she receives.
Educated are those who are good students, good friends and also good sons/daughters, he said.
There is no guarantee that only academic knowledge will ensure success, he continued and maintained that co-curricular activities are equally important in developing the character and personality of children.
Saying that students who engage in sporting activities are more confident comparatively, Nishikant stated that there are certain things which have to be experienced and not learned from books.
The MLA, on the other hand, said that opening of such pre-school is indeed laudable and wished the entire staff a success.
Honeycomb Foundation chairman M Anilkumar Singh and Principal Soyam Chaningkhombi also attended the programme, among others.
