Buddhist relic

A Thai businessman, who is on a tour to the State, has donated a Buddhist relic for the construction of a Buddhist monastery here.
The Thai businessman and tourist, Tanon, who arrived here yesterday handed over the relic to the president of All Manipur Buddhists'' Association, Prof MS Ningomba during a simple function held at Prof Ningomba's residence located at Ningomthongjao this morning.
Handing over the relic, Tanon besides assuring to donate Rs 1 million towards the construction of a monastery at Canchipur, said he would seek donation and contribution from the King of Thailand for the cause.
Tanon also visited the construction site of the monastery at Canchipur Leishang Hiden foundation of which was laid by Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar.
