The Government was earlier planning to bring back 84 people but three individuals chose to stay back at Guwahati.
In their place, six other people were taken on board the buses.
As they reached Mao Gate, they were screened by the medical team stationed there.
Their samples would be tested for COVID-19 at RIMS and JNIMS, Dr Sasheekumar said.
While those found negative for COVID-19 would be sent home, others whose samples are found positive would be taken to hospital for necessary treatment.
