Imphal, November 01 2014 :
Anti-AFSPA campaigner Irom Chanu Sharmila has questioned the Government why the report of Justice Reddy Committee on Armed Forces Special Powers Act has not been made public till today.
She landed at Imphal airport at around 11.40 am today after her after appearance before a Court in New Delhi on October 30 and 31 .
Sharmila was brought back by a joint team comprising of Manipur Central Jail officials, State police personnel, a doctor and a nurse of JNIMS in an Indigo flight.
Speaking to media persons on her arrival at Tulihal airport, Sharmila questioned the people of the State why they are still remaining silent although many innocent civilians have been tortured, harassed, killed and raped by security personnel under the immunity of AFSPA.

Reiterating that her demand is the complete removal of the draconian Act from Manipur, Sharmila stated that her agitation is not an attempt to commit suicide, which the police have charged against her.
She also appealed to the people of the State to collectively fight for the repeal of AFSPA from Manipur.
Criticising the political and public leaders for remaining silent spectators to the issue, Sharmila said that people of the State have not got their due rights although India is said to be a democratic country.
Claiming that there is no law in the State, the marathon hunger striker questioned as to why the report of Justice Jeevan Reddy Committee on AFSPA has not been made public till today.
It may be mentioned that Sharmila left for New Delhi on October 29 last following a Court summon in connection with a pending case taken up against her by Parliament Street police station under FIR number 222 (6) under 309 IPC for holding a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in 2006 demanding repeal of AFSPA.
