The CorCom has cautioned the public to be on guard against one Konsam (O) Sanahanbi w/o K Bimol of Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
According to a press release issued by the CorCom media coordinator Ksh Yoiheiba, Sanahanbi collected a huge amount of money from some people in the name of CorCom and went into hiding.
CorCom received a complaint which said that Sanahanbi deceived 31 people and collected over Rs one crore by claiming herself as a key functionary of CorCom who was also in-charge of 'project' .
After convincing that a loan of Rs five crore would be given from CorCom, out of which 50 per cent was grant and the interest rate was one per cent per annum, Sanahanbi collected Rs 75 lakh from five individuals in 2015.Again, with the false promise of ensuring BSc Nursing and MBBS seats and appointment in Health Department, RIMS and Manipur University, she again collected Rs 91,40,000 from 26 individuals last year.
Even as CorCom tried to contact Sanahanbi in order to verify the complaints filed against her, Sanahanbi could not be contacted.
Nonetheless, a written intimation was sent to her family asking Sanahanbi to give her clarifications to CorCom by August 31, 2016.A copy of the intimation was also delivered to the local Meira Paibi group.
However, Sanahanbi has been hiding till date which only implies that she is guilty, it asserted.
CorCom then appealed to all the people to be wary of such people who have taken to amassment of personal wealth through deceitful means and also not to give shelter to Sanahanbi in any manner.
Such cunning individuals could deceive some of the people because they prefer easy but faulty means of earning money rather than working on the righteous path, it added.
