CM inaugurates UNACCO school for Arts

Chief Minister N Biren Singh today formally inaugurated UNACCO School for Class XI and Class XII Arts from the Chief Minister's Secretariat today.
During the virtual inauguration programme of the newly built school at Chanura Bazar, Nambol, the Chief Minister reiterated that the Government is keen on improving the education system in the State.
The Government thus launched "School Fagathansi Mission" to improve the Government schools in terms of physical and manpower infrastructure, the Chief Minister said.
The coming of a new school will promote the spirit of competition, hoped the Chief Minister and lauded UNACCO Group for undertaking various positive and developmental projects and assured that such positive endeavours will always be encouraged.
He also appreciated UNACCO Group for assisting the Government in the fight against Covid pandemic by offering the school and other facilities and extending other forms of assistance.
The Chief Minister also exuded confidence that the new school for Arts stream will help in providing value based education and inculcate the sense of Nationalism among the students.
The State Government has also instructed the officials Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, Board of Secondary School Manipur and State Council for Educational Research to formulate a comprehensive syllabus to incorporate all elements to arouse a sense of Nationalism.
All efforts are also on to incorporate the extensive syllabus to highlight the rich history of the State, he said while adding that construction of the Eastern Gate (Nongpok Thong) of Kangla is one of the initiatives to help the younger generation know the glorious history of the State which was once an independent kingdom in South East Asia.
He also maintained that efforts are underway to include folk songs of different communities, their way of depicting relations among other communities, in the new syllabus.
The Chief Minister further maintained that politics does not end with constructing roads and undertaking different projects but also encompasses many other areas.
So long, communication gap among the communities has been a factor hindering the progress of the State, he said while adding that politics should be key in bridging the gap and help regain the sense of unity.
Speaking at the occasion, chairman of UNACCO Group N Irabanta said that the new school is the third of its kind after schools at Khongman (from pre nursery to Class XII) and at Meitram have been established.
The third school for Arts has been set up considering that there are fewer private schools offering Arts stream in the State, Irabanta said.
Expansion and upgradation of these schools upto college levels are in the pipeline, the UNNACO chairman continued.
The inauguration programme was also attended by Education Minister N Rajen, TA&H Minister V Valte, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba; advisor to the CM, Dr S Rajen, MLA Karam Shyam and officials of UNACCO School.
