Engineers' training programme begins

Imphal, April 28 2011:
A six day training programme for engineers on Quality Control and preparing Detail Project Report (DPR) while repairing and constructing road transport, highways and bridges have commenced today Hotel Classic, Imphal.
The training programme which will continue till May 3 is being organised by the Indian Academy of Highway Engineers under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Many engineers of state PWD and MSRRDA are participating in the training programme.
Former Director Grade Scientist, CRRI, Dr SS Sira gave lectures on 'Design, Construction, Supervision and Quality Control in Rigid Pavements' on the first day.
Head GTE, CRRI Sudhir Mathur gave lectures on 'Geotechnical Investigation and Material Survey for Preparation of DPR' and 'Soil Characterisation' .
Former Joint Director, NCC BM, New Delhi Dr SC Maiti, Former Chief Engineer West Bengal PWD TK Mukhopadhyay, Former Head CRRI Flexible Pavement Division Dr Sinul Bose, Hill Road Expert HK Sharma and Former Chief Engineer Ashok Kumar will be giving lectures on different topics during the training programme.
