The Hmar Students' Association, State Coordinating Committee, Manipur expressed its concern regarding the agitation taken up students of Parvachawm Government High School against the absence of school teachers .
A press communique of the HAS-SCC Manipur signed by its coordinator Lal Robul Pudaite and secretary Malsawmthang Ralsun stated that the tragic education system in Hmar areas is disheartening .
In connection with the issue, an emergency meeting was held today which the association resolved to pursue the matter of discrepancies, absence of teachers and improper functioning of schools in Hmar areas, it stated .
It also decided that the HSA will meet the authorities concerned at the earliest to discuss means to redress the problems .
"The HSA wishes for the smooth functioning of Government schools in Hmar areas and will initiate steps for the same", it stated and appealed all concerned to support its efforts and cooperate with the organization as it seeks to root out the anomalies prevalent in the education system especially in the interior hill-areas of the State.
