Minister assures help in setting up photo gallery

Manipur Amateur Photo Club (MAPC) observed the World Photography Day at Press Club on Monday.
Speaking at the function, Minister of Works Dr Kh Ratankumar assured all possible help to set up a photo gallery and an archive for old and rare photographs.
"As a patron member of MAPC and as a legislature, I would extend all possible and necessary support for setting up a photo gallery and an archive of Manipur's rare photographs," the Minister said.
He observed that photograph is a powerful medium of communication, and it's undisputable.
If we handle it carefully and responsibly, it can easily convince the people.
However, if the photographer uses it in a wrong way, it can give a negative impact on the viewers.
During the function, President of MAPC, Yambem Laba noted that photographs play important role in creating public opinion on various important issues.
During the function; (late) G Narayan Sharma, Gurumayum Rabindra Sharma, Maisnam Hari, (Late) Kongbrailatpam Ibohal Sharma (Late), Ksh Ibotombi, Shyam Sharma, Irengbam Chaobi, (Late) Laimayum Daoji Sharma, Yumnam Nouba, (Late) Asem Sudarshan, (Late) Phurailatpam Babachand Sharma, were honoured with mementos by MAPC.
President All Manipur Working Journalist Union, A Mobi; Editor Imphal Free Press, I Arun; Editor ISTV, Y Rupachandra were attended the function.
