Assam Rifles Celebrates 72nd Independence Day

72nd Independence Day was celebrated by the units under command 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) in the Sector Headquarters, all Battalion Headquarters and Company Operating Bases, in which the locals and school children participated.
National Flags were hoisted followed by playing of National Anthem followed by various cultural programs.
Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles celebrated the 72nd Independence day with utmost pride, having been conferred with these gallantry awards including two Shaurya Chakra for unparalleled bravery and resultant elimination of insurgents.
The unit celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation by the operating bases.
The Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, village chiefs, village elders, youth attended the events on huge numbers, reaffirming the Bonding that exist between Sajik Battalion and the people of Kana valley.
The green hills of Samtal salient draped in tricolour on August 15 on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day celebrations at Sehlon Battalion.
The Sehlon Battalion made all necessary arrangements along with assisting in setting up AADHAR registration counters and Single Window certificate issuing counter at Sehlon Battalion.
A total of 220 villagers of the region participated in the occasion.
Officiating Commandant Sehlon Battalion addressed the gathering and conveyed the iron grit of the force in uplifting the living standards of the population and ensuring peace in the Samtal region.
SDO Chandel MR Baite represented civil administration of the region.
Flag hoisting was followed by the friendly volleyball match between villagers and troops of Sehlon Battalion.
A medical camp was conducted to provide medical assistance for the local villagers.
5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated the 72nd Independence Day on 15th August.
The Mayang Imphal COB organised flag hoisting at Lilong ,Mayang Imphal and Khelakhong along with various Madarsas and schools in the area.
People participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in hoisting the National flag celebrating the 72nd Independence Day.
The celebrations were followed by prayers for peace, unity, integrity and progress of the country and for people Manipur.
Sports gear and gifts were distributed among the children of the Madarsas and school on the national occasion.
