Ukhrul BJP youth express dismay

Ukhrul, May 16 2018:
Ukhrul BJP Youth expressed their strong resentment against the DC, Ukhrul for not launching the Ujalla (Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All)melas in the district for wide public awareness on the scheme.
According to a statement of ex-president BJYM Micheal Shaiza who is the convener for BJP Forest and Environment and Climatic Change Ukhrul District, the allotted share of LED bulbs is 2.8 lakh and 80 thousand tube lights for Ukhrul District.
He said, LED and tube lights has to be distributed to the needy families at subsided rate under the Ujalla scheme.
The DC had given assurance to distribute the LED bulbs as Christmas gifts to the people of Ukhrul, he said.
MSPDCL had earlier distributed LEDs and tube lights during the Go To Village camps, but on a small scale, he said highlighting the importance of conduction of the distribution of LEDs and tube lights on a larger scale to reach maximum number of people in the district.
Further, M Shaiza appealed the District Administrator to organise UJALA melas in the district at the earliest considering the needful and importance of the scheme to the people.
