BJP, MPP denounces CM Ibobi's remarks

State Unit BJP and Manipur People's Party (MPP) have strongly condemned the reported statement of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who had told a Delhi based media that the recent attacks on the North Easterners in the national capital as 'not racial assault or serious crimes' .
In a press meet here today, Stat BJP unit said Chief Minister Ibobi's statement is an insult to the people of the region.
The BJP pointed out that Congress party MP from Manipur Dr Th Meinya had already brought up the issue in the Parliament recent while terming them as 'racial attacks' .
"Ibobi's statement shows that there has been no co-ordination among the Congress party leaders as one say something and another leader would speak a different thing," the BJP stated.
The saffron party then asked the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to meet the Union Home Minister at the earliest on the matter.
Also condemning the statement of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Manipur People's Party (MPP) said the Delhi incidents were racial attacks and no one denies about it except Ibobi.
The MPP then appealed to the All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) to call off its indefinite blockade in the best interest of the people irrespective of living in the hills or the valley.
