Old age home and children's home visited

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that the State Government has been working with a firm commitment to execute all the developmental activities and implement different schemes with a 'humane touch' since the past one year and urged the people of the State to keep on showering blessings on the present Government in the coming years as well.
He was speaking to media persons during his visit to different Old Age and Children Homes on the occasion of completing one year of the BJP-led State Government today.
The CM was accompanied by CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam, Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Deputy Speaker K Robindro, several MLAs and high ranking officials of the State Social Welfare Department in his trip today.
The team visited the Old Age Home, Mongshangei, BB Paul Mental Development Home (Special School), Mongshangei, Destitute Children Home, Tera Keithel, Carmel Jyoti Children Home, Luwangshangbam and Children Home, Dewlahland and presented gifts and interacted with the people.
The Chief Minister said that it was on this day last year that the present Government was sworn-in with the blessings of the people.
Expressing gratitude to the people for extending support and cooperation to the State Government in bringing a change, Biren also urged the people to keep on showering blessings in the coming days as well.
Responding to a query, the CM said that the Central Government has approved the operation of a helicopter service in the State under the Union Home Ministry's 75 per cent subsidy scheme.
A formal letter was received by the State Government in this regard yesterday, he added.
Interacting with the inmates of Old Age Home, Mongshangei, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has been giving priority to serving the poor and needy, the less-privileged people, destitute children, differently-abled persons, widows and senior citizens.
The Chief Minister also announced that Health Cards under Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) would be provided to all the inmates of the Home apart from organising regular health check-up camps every month.
N Biren Singh also said that the State Government would also explore means to provide assistance to the Home on a regular basis.
He also assured to provide a domestic water pipeline to the Home in consultation with the officials of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) .
