Youth should be self reliant and diligent, says Govindas Konthoujam

MLA Bishnupur AC, Konthoujam Govindas has conveyed that the socio-economic status of the State will witness an improvement if the youth takes up any work diligently, honestly, punctually and with a positive mind.
He was speaking at an aid distribution ceremony organised for unemployed youths at his residence" in Ningthoukhong Keithel today.
Stating that every person in the State are not guaranteed with Government jobs, Govindas stated that the economic status of the State will deteriorate if the youth considers the white collar job as the only job to have a source of income.
The youths should be self reliant and search for self employment opportunities apart from working truthfully and diligently.
Such aid distribution programme has been organising since 2014 under Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation, he mentioned.
The foundation has distributed chicks to a total of 1280 unemployed individuals till date while another 100 persons have been distributed with piglets since 2016, Govindas conveyed.
He stated that the piglets, have been brought from the foundation's farm and the chicks have been bought from other private farms.
Govindas further informed that the Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation, since 2016, has provided pension to widows (under 40 years) by distributing Rs 300 per month and since 2015, pensions have also been given to at least 870 aged persons.
The foundation has also extended aid to 1650 students till date, by providing coaching classes for HSLC examination while it has also given meritorious financial assistance to 130 students, since 2013, he added.
The MLA said, Konthoujam Gojendro Foundation has also extended financial assistance to 70 ailing individuals apart from building houses for 20 underprivileged people.
He said that the foundation has been able to extend all possible assistance to the needy persons from the asset left by his father.
He maintained that the initiative is not Govt funded and is not concerned with politics or the upcoming election.
Govindas conveyed that the State Govt's "Go to Village" Mission has rather been "Go to People" for the locals of his constituency.
Bishnupur Block Congress Committee president Ch Ibotombi, Bishnupur Block Manila Congress Committee president Maibam Shama, Nambol Municipal Council Chairperson K Mani, Vice Chairperson Th Roma and Bishnupur Block Youth Congress Committee leaders were present in the ceremony.
